Wharton Speaker Series: William Fung, 17 Sept 2009 You're cordially invited to Wharton Club 's Speaker Series. Please see details below.
Dear all,
I received many enquiries on the details of the next Wharton Speaker Series since I mentioned it in my last email so thank you for the patience......
As the capital markets have achieved a powerful rally, many of you like me would like to know how the real economy is doing. Is it finally moving out of the trough? Are the retailers taking on more inventory? Are the consumers shifting savings to consumption? No firm is better positioned than Li & Fung to provide the perspective to these questions.
We are excited to announce William Fung who will address the Club on " Managing Change in a Flat World". William has been the Group Managing Director of Li & Fung since 1986 and led the company through both organic growth and M&A into a powerhouse assisting its clients in sourcing products from garments to hard goods across the globe. William is a non-executive director of HSBC Holdings PLC and the past Chairman of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. He is also a co-author, together with Victor Fung and Professor Jerry Wind*, of the book "Competing in a Flat World".
* the Lauder Professor and Professor of Marketing at The Wharton School.
