Wharton Speaker Series: Frank Lavin on June 5, 2009 at 12 noon We are excited to announce Frank Lavin who will address the Club on "U.S.-China Policy Under Obama". Frank, a Wharton alumni, is currently the Chairman of the Public Affairs Practice for Edelman Asia Pacific, the largest independent communications firm in the world. He formerly served as MD and COO of Cushman & Wakefield Investors Asia. Frank also has a distinguished career in the public service. He previously served as Under Secretary for International Trade at the U.S. Department of Commerce ('05 - '07). In his capacity, Frank served as lead trade negotiator for China and India. Frank was U.S. Ambassador to Singapore ('01 - '05), where his duties included helping negotiate the landmark U.S. - Singapore Free Trade Agreement. He served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce during the George H.W. Bush Administration. In the Reagan Administration, he served in the White House as Director of the Office of Political Affairs and on the National Security Council staff.
